This Weekend in Sport – 2nd August – 5th August

As we enter August the NRL and AFL seasons begin their home stretch and there is still plenty on the line in terms of finals.

It is local derby round in the AFL with a Showdown in Adelaide Saturday afternoon before a Western Derby at Optus Stadium on Sunday to close out Round 20.

In the NRL just six points separate first and eighth so every team currently in the top eight knows how important each game is.

The Super Rugby season reaches its conclusion and it is the Crusaders in the final (for what feels like the millionth time) as they face the Lions from South Africa, who are in the final for the third straight season and seeking their first win.

Randwick hosts to the Missile Stakes this weekend and a star-studded field looks set to run including Kementari and She Will Reign.
