This Weekend in Sport – 2nd August – 5th August

As we enter August the NRL and AFL seasons begin their home stretch and there is still plenty on the line in terms of finals.

It is local derby round in the AFL with a Showdown in Adelaide Saturday afternoon before a Western Derby at Optus Stadium on Sunday to close out Round 20.

In the NRL just six points separate first and eighth so every team currently in the top eight knows how important each game is.

The Super Rugby season reaches its conclusion and it is the Crusaders in the final (for what feels like the millionth time) as they face the Lions from South Africa, who are in the final for the third straight season and seeking their first win.

Randwick hosts to the Missile Stakes this weekend and a star-studded field looks set to run including Kementari and She Will Reign.

Daily Racing Tips – Australasian Oaks Day Special

Randwick-Kensington - Race 4 1:25pm AEST No. 5 Fituese Fituese is well-placed to make a winning return to the races. She has recorded three wins from her five race starts and she has shown she can produce a high-rating performance. The wide barrier draw is not ideal, but she does have tactical versatility and Rachel King will have options in the early stages of the race. Bet Now: Randwick-Kensington Race 4 Morphettville - Race 6 3:16pm AEST No. 1 Garner Garner returned to winning form with an excellent effort in the Redelva Stakes and a repeat of that effort will make him very tough to beat in the Euclase Stakes.
