Daily Sports Tips – Saturday 1st September

Milos Raonic vs. Stan Wawrinka
9.00am AEST

Set Betting: Stan Wawrinka 3-1 @ $5.00

The third round of the U.S Open gets underway this morning in what should be a close match between two veterans of the court. Both Raonic and Wawrinka battled out a tiring five-set match at the Australian Open two years ago, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see this one last the same distance. Both players are in form, but Wawrinka is the favourite for a reason. He’s had a tough draw in this tournament and after a four-set belter two night’s ago against Ugo Humbert, he should be better conditioned for this.

Gold Coast Titans vs North Queensland Cowboys
5.30pm AEST

Cowboys 1-12 @ $2.90

Johnathan Thurston calls it a career tonight, and you have to like the Cowboys chances after their victory over the Eels. North Queensland played a full 80-minutes for the first time in forever, complimented by some big defensive efforts. Thurston’s career deserves to end on a winning note, and if the Cowboys can keep feeding last week’s hat-trick scorer Kyle Feldt the ball, it shouldn’t be too much to ask.

Leicester vs. Liverpool
9.30pm AEST

Correct Score: Liverpool To Win 2-1 @ $8.00

Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in all three games to start the season, but a trip to King Power Stadium tonight is no easy task. Fortunately for the Reds, Leicester will go without star striker Jamie Vardy once again, limiting the Foxes’ scoring chances. Liverpool, meanwhile, feature a complete squad minus Dejan Lovren, and should rest easy knowing they hold the head-to-head advantage having won 47 of their 110 meetings with Leicester.
