Daily Racing Tips – Monday 1st October

Royal Randwick - Race 1 12.45pm AEST

No. 1 Diplomatico

Diplomatico finished a very close second when he made his racing debut at Rosehill Gardens in July and he has won a barrier trial ahead of his return to racing by six lengths. There are some good horses in this field, but if he can replicate his debut performance he will prove very tough to beat.

Royal Randwick - Race 3 1:55pm AEST

No. 2 Spring Charlie

Spring Charlie has put together an excellent record and he comes into this contest on the back of two classy wins at Newcastle and Warwick Farm. This is a step-up in class, but he is a horse that still has a stack of upside and he makes his own luck right on the speed. There is no reason he can’t make it three wins on the trot.

Randwick - Race 4 2.30pm AEST

No. 3 Savacool

Savacool returned to the races with a promising performance at Rosehill Gardens last start and she is well-placed to return to winning form. 1400 metres is short of her best trip, but there is no doubt that she is the class mare in this field and she has the turn-of-foot to finish over the top of her rivals.

Randwick - Race 8 5.00pm AEST

No. 9 Absolute

Absolute has chased home some smart horses this campaign and the form coming out of his last start fourth has been very strong. I like the fact that trainer James Cummings has given him a barrier trial between race starts and he is excellent value to return to winning form.
