Mercedes Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship Odds Now -710 After Winning First 4 Races of the Season

  • Mercedes has finished one-two in every race so far this season
  • Mercedes has 173 points after four races; no other team has hit triple-digits
  • Mercedes has gone from -400 to win the Constructors’ Championship to -710

The 2019 Formula One season is just four races in but it looks like Mercedes is running away with the Constructors’ Championship. They’ve won it five seasons in a row and while some thought it might be a closer race this time around, it’s been the opposite. Can Ferrari – or anyone else – catch up to them? Let’s take a look at the 2019 F1 Constructors’ Championship odds.

Alfa Romeo +200000

Mercedes Continues Roll

Mercedes is atop the leaderboard once again. Are you surprised? They have now collected 173 points so far this season and are the only team in triple digits. Ferrari had 99 points and is the only team with even a remote chance of catching them. Red Bull has 64 points and can still claim to be in the running.

Beyond those three teams, though, there is no race. McLaren has just 18 points this season, Racing Point has 17 and Alfa Romeo is at 13. We would need to see an end-of-the-world type of cataclysmic disaster for any of these teams to upset Mercedes – and everyone else – and win the Constructors’ Championship.

The oddsmakers tend to agree as Mercedes’ Constructors’ Championship Odds have gone from -400 on April 15th to -710 on April 30th.

Mercedes Has Yet to Lose

When you start looking at who might upset Merecedes for the Constructors’ Championship, you have to start by asking yourself who’ll win enough races to topple them. Right now, that’s the big concern if you’re betting anyone else.

We’re four races into the season and Mercedes has finished one-two in every single race. Valtteri Bottas has a pair of wins and Lewis Hamilton has won the other two races. That means they’ve been on the podium four times each while Sebastian Vettel has only made it twice. Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen have made it just once.

Where’s Ferrari?

Remember that Ferrari had a great start to last season and actually made a contest out of this. They were the winning constructor in five of the first 13 races as Sebastian Vettel had won the first two races of the year and five of the first 13. Lewis Hamilton had to win six of the final eight races to run away with it.

Mercedes has had a driver on the pole position in three of the first four races of the season.

This year has been a completely different story. Ferrari is nowhere to be found as Mercedes has been the winning constructor every single time so far. They’ve also had the winning driver every time and have had a driver on the pole position in three of the first four races of the season.

Could things change? Possibly, but who wants to bet against that? Mercedes has been the most dominant constructor in the F1 for years now and this merely looks like a continuation. There had been some hope that the Vettel-Leclerc team could turn things around but we’ve seen none of that so far.

If anything, Mercedes has gotten stronger as Bottas is on a roll. He didn’t win a single time last season and had just two pole position. He’s all but bested both numbers through four races. With him and Hamilton feasting, Mercedes is the best bet here.

Pick: Mercedes (-714)
