Legendary Lands – $100 into $405190

The Suns are certainly shining on one Ladbrokes punter after their result on Saturday secured one of the best Legendary Lands we have ever seen.

It was a 12-leg, $100 outlay that netted a return of over $405,000 that played out in phenomenal fashion over the last five months all coming down to the Swans-Suns clash at the SCG, but we’ll get to that soon.

While the multi was predominantly Aussie Rules focues, it started with our punter backing the Over 2.5 Goals in the Rennes v Arsenal one leg of the Europa League quarter finals which came through comfortably.

Up next our punter backed the Crows to win the AFLW Premiership which they did in comfortable fashion, blasting Carlton off the park in the final by 45 points.

Then came the AFL legs where this punter took full advantage of our AFL season pricing, by backing 10 matches between Rounds 1 and 15, including three times where the Suns were backed at the line, or to not be as bad as most expected them to be.

In Round 1 they started off taking the Giants to cover a -5.5 line against Essendon, which they did several times over winning by 72 points, not exactly the most stressful afternoon there.

The following week was the first of three times our punter backed the Suns at the line as they took on Fremantle and not only covered the +31.5 line but won outright.

Easter weekend brought about the next two legs of this multi starting with Essendon to cover -10.5 against North Melbourne on Good Friday and Geelong to win outright on Easter Monday over the Hawks.

Up next our punter went into the Battle of the Bridge taking the Giants to knock off the Swans and claim bragging rights for the city.

GWS ran out comfortable winners by 41 points and this multi was suddenly going from speculative to an outside chance.

For the next leg, the Suns travelled west and just needed to lose by 70 or less against the defending Premiers.

That was too big of a spread for the Eagles who won but only by 23 and we were now two thirds of the way through it.

Then came the Showdown with the Crows covering their early season line of -6.5 against Port in a 20 point victory.

The ladder leading Cats were backed in the tenth leg of this multi with just a 13.5 point line against the Swans.

Inaccuracy cost the Swans on the day kicking 8.15 and wound up going down by 22 but that didn’t upset this punter as it meant he was now two legs from a massive win.

They had to wait two weeks for leg 11 and it nearly tripped up the bet as the Hawks tried to close a huge deficit in the final term.

Our punter could have been forgiven for sweating a bit as Hawthorn kicked 19 straight points to reduce the deficit to 18 points with seven minutes remaining.

Having taken the Bombers with a -15.5 point handicap one more shot could have been fatal to the bet, but Essendon managed to hold on and keep the multi intact.

Perhaps if you spoke to this punter between Rounds 13 and 15 of the AFL season, they might have been a little tense, since they had a return of over $400,000 riding on the Swans-Suns match.

Before the season, the Suns had a +59.5 handicap which our punter took to their fortune as the line had dropped by over 20 points between when the bet was placed and the day before the game.

At half time the Suns trailed by just four points before the home side began to kick away after the main break.

When Darcy MacPherson kicked the Suns last goal of the game just before the 15 minute mark of the fourth quarter, our punter might have started to enjoy the moment a little bit more as the clock wound down.

From there the Swans added another two goals to their lead but the Suns still comfortably covered the 10 goal line sealing the win for this punter.

Not only is it a win for the ages, it’s a phenomenal win for a punter picking and choosing their spots to claim a legendary land for the ages.
