Daily Racing Tips – Sunday 2nd February

Sunshine Coast - Race 3 2:55pm AEDT

No. 1 Jagged Edge

Jagged Edge is well-placed to make a winning return to the races. He wasn’t able to record a race win during his most recent racing campaign, but he did produce some high-rating performances and this is a genuine drop in quality. On his best form, the Better Than Ready gelding has a class edge over the rest of this field and he should get a lovely run in transit with James Orman in the saddle.

Sunshine Coast - Race 5 4:15pm AEDT

No. 1 Empire Games

Empire Games is a gelding with a fair amount of upside. He showed a nice turn-of-foot to finish second behind Clear The Bill on debut at the Sunshine Coast and he should take good improvement from that performance. The Adelaide gelding will settle in the second half of the field and will prove tough to hold out in the concluding stages of this contest.

Sunshine Coast - Race 6 5:30pm AEDT

No. 12 Cabochon Lil

Cabochon Lil has only recorded the one race win during her racing career to date, but she has generally contested races that are tougher than this one. Her win at the Sunshine Coast a couple of starts ago could hardly have been more impressive and a repeat of that effort would make her very tough to beat. The Sebring filly will settle in the second half of the field and will be flying home late.

Sunshine Coast - Race 8 6:10pm AEDT

No. 4 Shinshinto

The step-up in trip will be an issue for Shinshinto could prove to be an issue, but he does have more upside than the rest of this field. It would not surprise to see Corey Bayliss ride him aggressively from the wide barrier draw and he will give his rivals something to chase.
