No. 2 Sylvia’s Mother
Sylvia’s Mother is deserving of her status as a clear favourite in the Frances Tressady Stakes. She returned to the races with a classy victory in the Bellmaine Stakes and she should only improve on that effort. The Snitzel mare will get a dream run in transit and she has a clear class edge over the rest of this field.
Flemington - Race 8 4:50pm AEDT
No. 2 Fifty Stars
Fifty Stars may never have a better chance to return to winning form. He raced well at Group 1 level without winning in the Spring and his fourth place finish in the C.F. Orr Stakes was excellent. Flemington is a better track for him and the Blamey Stakes is a genuine drop in quality. This is an ideal race for him.
Royal Randwick - Race 6 3:50pm AEDT
No. 1 Flit
Flit returned to the races with an outstanding victory in the Light Fingers Stakes and she should only improve on that performance. She won the Thousand Guineas in the Spring, but she looks as though she has gone to another level this campaign. Hugh Bowman will be able to settle her just behind the speed and she will prove too classy for her rivals late.
Royal Randwick - Race 7 4:30pm AEDT
No. 1 Avilius
Avilius is outstanding value to win the Chipping Norton Stakes. The Godolphin import ran the fastest closing sectionals of the race in the C.F. Orr Stakes at Caulfield first-up and the step-up to 1600 metres is ideal for him. He has generally produced his best form in Sydney and he can claim another Group 1 victory.
