English youngster Jadon Sancho has become one of the hottest properties in soccer with most of Europe’s top clubs hoping to prise him away from Borussia Dortmund when the sport resumes business.
The 20-year-old Sancho had scored 14 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund before the shut-down caused by the coronavirus and had delivered 16 assists.
Manchester United are rated as the +200 favorites to sign him before September 1. They are hugely impressed by his pace, dexterity, trickiness and vision in a wide role and his ability to score goals.

Dortmund Want $202 million
Dortmund are willing to allow the England international to leave for a reported fee of $202 million.
Although the fall-out from the soccer shutdown may depress transfer fees in the near future, Manchester United are believed to be willing to meet the asking price in order to further advance the re-building which has been taking place under coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United are correctly priced in pole position as Sancho himself is said to favor a move to Old Trafford – partly in order to further his ambitions with the English national team. At +200, there is value on offer.
Solsksjaer has reduced the average age of United’s preferred starting line-up during his year in command and Sancho fits that profile very well.
United are determined to land a major young superstar after missing out on striker Erling Braut Haaland.
He also knows Manchester well after spending two years as a development player at City between 2015 and 2017 before his move to Dortmund.

Sancho supported Chelsea as a boy growing up in south London.
But despite the need for rebuilding in the near future, they have been determined in recent seasons to withdraw from the transfer arms race.
Chelsea Wary of Huge Fee
So they are unlikely to match United’s willingness to meet Dortmund’s asking price.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was formerly in charge at Dortmund.
This could give him an edge in any negotiations with the German club.
However, Liverpool currently believes they can get better value identifying lesser-known players than Sancho and grooming them in their currently hugely successful system.
Dortmund are determined to stop handing over their talent to their biggest rivals in the Bundesliga after failing to win the title since 2012.
Bayern Munich have a long-established conveyor belt on which they have often bought Dortmund’s best players including Robert Lewandowski, Mats Hummels and Mario Gotze in recent years.

Sancho has made 11 senior appearances for England – scoring twice – since his debut in 2018.
It seems likely that a move to the English Premier League will improve his standing in the England team, with the canceled Euro 2020 tournament now set for its final stages at Wembley next year.
Pick: Manchester United +200
