Race 1 - 12:08pm

Maiden Handicap (1000m)

Dafeenah is fitter for one run back from a spell and gets her chance to breakthrough for her Maiden win. Me As I Am looks to be one of the main contenders after being runner up at her last two starts over this course and distance in September and February. Windchill is resuming from a long break but did win a recent Sunshine Coast barrier trial beating first starter Our Omen.

Maiden Handicap (1000m)

Gideons is resuming from a long spell after being placed twice at Toowoomba and Ipswich in April – May last year and if he runs up to his recent eight and three quarter lengths Sunshine Coast barrier trial win, will be hard to beat. Queen Of Emeralds is also resuming and was placed at her four runs before a break and has won a Doomben barrier trial in preparation for her return. Lyrical Girl is fitter for one run back from a spell and Step Aside was a recent easy Doomben barrier trial winner.

Race 3 - 1:18pm

QTIS 2yo Maiden Handicap (1000m)

First starter Bohemian Boom scored a nice Doomben barrier trial win on March 24 and will make his debut with the blinkers on so keep a close eye on the betting. Shooting Roses was runner up before a break over this course and distance and also has the blinkers on after a handy Doomben barrier trial win and has good gate speed to overcome the outside barrier. First starter Palladas has finished second in his three barrier trials and Sista Elenore is making her race day debut on her home track.

QTIS 3yo Maiden Handicap (1600m)

Qiji Bellezza is fitter for three runs back from a spell and showed last start that she wasn’t far off a win with a second in a 1400m Sunshine Coast 3yo Maiden. Wurinc is also knocking on the door with two seconds from her last two starts at the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. City Smart is up in the weights but hasn’t been far off the mark of late and Jump Start is ready to go coming off a second in a 1400m Gatton Maiden.

Race 5 - 2:28pm

BenchMark 70 Handicap (1800m)

Arterial has won two of his last three starts at Doomben and is ready to step up to the 1800m of this week’s contest. Fastnet Cyclone is a last Start Doomben mid-week winner over 2040m and has claims back on his home track. Al Jood was a winner two starts back at the Sunshine Coast over 1400m and will get a cosy run from the inside gate and Lucky Jackson is chasing a Sunshine Coast hat trick.

Race 6 - 3:03pm

Class 3 Handicap (1000m)

Gin ‘N’ Bitters is the winner of her only two starts in November last year, both over this course and distance, and has a great chance to keep her undefeated record intact. I Am Venus has been placed at her last two starts over 1000m at Eagle Farm looks well placed here. Tru Blu Tango has won a recent 850m Sunshine Coast barrier trial in preparation for his return and Simply So is a three times winner over this course and distance.

Race 7 - 3:38pm

Class 1 Handicap (1600m)

Combativite has been around he mark of late and gets her chance to find the winner’s stall here. Royal Sheen broke through for his Maiden win at Murwillumbah last start and can figure in the mix again. Mitta Mary is also coming off a last start Maiden win at the Sunshine Coast and Epoicurious is coming back from a city Saturday class.

Race 8 - 4:13pm

Class 1 Handicap (1200m)

Scathing is resuming and had some handy City form before a break. The Chris Munce trained three year old finished a close up third in a recent Doomben 1000m barrier trial. Roman Republic scored on debut in a Doomben Maiden on March 4 and look for further improvement. Pull Anchor has a win and two placings in the city from her last four starts and looks well placed here and Rock Tour is fitter for two runs back from a spell.

Race 9 - 4:52pm

BenchMark 68 Handicap (1400m)

Coastal Boy has a win and two placings from his last three runs at the Sunshine Coast and is a winner over this course and distance. Sugar Zone was back in the winner’s stall last start at the Gold Coast and has strong claims again heading back to the Sunshine Coast. Spirit Esprit is fitter for one run back from a spell and look for improvement and third emergency Got My Thrills has claims if she gains a spot in the field.
