Ladbrokes Park Preview – Wednesday 3rd June

We’re racing at Ladbrokes Park again on Wednesday and an exciting eight-race program awaits.

We’ve done all the heavy lifting for you, and you can find a tip for each race at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday, June 3rd below.

Race 1 - 12:25pm

Ladbrokes Handicap (1400m)

Chequerboard was an impressive winner on debut and can continue his rise through the grades at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The Fastnet Rock filly mustered an eye-catching turn of foot to salute by close to a length at Pakenham and she is sure to enjoy good improvement for that experience.

Race 2 - 1:00pm

Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1300m)

La Croft hasn’t run a bad race since debuting and while this is one of the better races at Ladbrokes Park this week, I think she’ll take beating.

The Foxwedge filly broke her maiden when resuming at Strathalbyn, progressing to a credible fifth in a Saturday race at Morphettville before filling the minors on the heavy-going at Cranbourne last time out.

Fitter fourth-up, back to a firmer track and from the good barrier, she’ll take beating.

Race 3 - 1:35pm

MRC Foundation Handicap (1200m)

This is a rise in class for Cataracta, but she could hardly have been more impressive when resuming and it does look the next logical step for her.

The Niagara mare returned some pleasing efforts and results last time in, but her dominant win at Horsham first-up suggested that she has only improved this time.

She’s drawn to receive a lovely run from gate 4 and will have the benefit of Teo Nugent’s claim.

Race 4 - 2:10pm

Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap (2100m)

This is set to be another outstanding contest and there is a case to be made for more than half of the confirmed field.

Gravistas returned a pleasing effort on debut in Australia and can record his first win for Anthony Freedman on Wednesday.

The four-year-old son of Dansili was a strong and consistent performer during the early stages of his career in the UK and recorded a dominant win over 2414m at Newmarket in his final start last June.

He filled the minors over a mile at Ballarat a few weeks ago and there is no doubt that he’ll appreciate the rise in trip this week.

3 Units Gravistas

Race 5 - 2:45pm

Ladbrokes Money Back Odds Handicap (2400m)

Stakes winner Berisha has stripped fitter for three starts back from a spell and looms as a live chance of winning the fifth.

The Al Samer gelding was probably a little outclassed in a couple of races over 1700m and 2000m at Flemington when resuming but worked home well to finish fourth in BM84 company here at Ladbrokes Park last time out.

The rise in trip will suit, as will the drop in class.

Race 6 - 3:20pm

Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap (1600m)

There is no doubting that Vivid Art has continued to improve with each race start since resuming and she is capable of continuing her rise through the grades in this open contest.

The Artie Schiller filly raced greenly when sixth behind Madam Legend at Newcastle, but finished on the placegetters’ heels at Goulburn and second at Kembla Grange, before breaking her maiden over at mile at Ballarat, last time out.

Craig Williams jumping aboard is obviously a huge bonus and I’m happy to have something on each-way.

Race 7 - 3:55pm

Ladbrokes Switch Handicap (1600m)

Main Stage has been knocking on the door of a win in a race like this one since resuming and gets his chance on Wednesday.

The Reliable Man gelding finished down the order at Bendigo when resuming but mustered two big efforts to finish a close-up second at odds here at Ladbrokes Park second and third-up.

He just died on his run a little when eighth behind the in-form Sikorsky at Flemington last time out, but is rock-hard fit for this, drawn ideally and will get a relief in the weights with Thomas Stockdale aboard.

3 Units Main Stage

Race 8 - 4:30pm

Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap (1400m)

Hidden Legend has returned to the races in terrific order this time and can record another win in the last at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The John Sadler-trained gelding finished second in a couple of BM64 races here two and three starts back, but was rewarded for his consistency with a dominant win over the 1300m last time out.

It looms as a race in two between him and Sukoot, but happy to take the fitness edge of Hidden Legend.
