QTIS 3yo BenchMark 70 Handicap (1400m)

Super Effort scored on debut in a Sunshine Coast 1200m Maiden and then finished third in a Saturday class 1200m 3yo Handicap at Eagle Farm. Back to the mid-weeks and better suited here.

Moonan Me is also dropping back to the mid-weeks and back in distance following a fourth in a Saturday class Doomben 3yo Handicap over 1600m and can be in the mix again.

Kasear was a well beaten sixth of six in the same race as Moonan Me and will also find this an easier assignment and Geogie’s Pride is another one dropping back to easier mid-week company following a well beaten fourth in a 1200m Eagle Farm 3yo Fillies Handicap on August 15.

Race 2 - 1:08pm

Benchmark 70 Handicap (2206m)

Neptune’s Choice is chasing a hat trick after wins in an 1800m Sunshine Coast Class 1 and in a 2150m Ipswich Class 3 a fortnight ago and will be one of the main chances again.

Dashing Special has some handy recent form over similar distances and is coming off a last start second ion a 2112m Eagle Farm BenchMark 72 Handicap and is one of the main chances.

Speaking Bad has been placed over similar distance in the past and is coming off a last start second as favourite, in the 2150m Ipswich Class 3 and Corsini is fitter for recent racing and the step up in distance is not a problem coming off a last fifth in an 1800m Gold Coast BenchMark 68 Handicap.

Race 3 - 1:43pm

Maiden Handicap (1000m)

Lyrical Girl has three placings from five outings and is having her first start back since finishing second in a 1000m Sunshine Coast Maiden in April. The Your Song mare is the winner of a recent 1000m Doomben barrier trial and has a great chance to shed her maiden status.

Stylish Habit will be better for a debut third as favourite in an 870m Toowoomba Maiden and look for improvement.

Right Reason will wear he blinkers on debut and has trialled twice recently for a fourth and a win over 850m at the Sunshine Coast and My Adeline hasn’t been far off the mark recently with a third in a 1200m Sunshine Coast Maiden followed by a fourth in a 1200m Gold Coast Maiden.

2 Units Lyrical Girl

Race 4 - 2:18pm

Class 4 Plate (1200m)

Fasano is resuming and was a winner over this course and distance during her last campaign. Fasano has won first up in the past and has finished third in a recent 840m Doomben barrier trial and expect a bold showing first up.

Fuji Flyer is also resuming and will get the run of the race from the inside gate at his first run back since finishing tenth in a 1200m Gold Coast Class 6 Plate in April.

Shogun Sun is back to mid-week company following a sixth in a 1600m Doomben BenchMark 90 Handicap in May and Triple Arrow has the blinkers off after a fifth in a 1200m Gold Coast Class 5.

Race 5 - 2:53pm

Class 3 Handicap (1600m)

Sayl was a winner two starts back in a 1650m Doomben BenchMark 72 Handicap and then finished third in a 1660m Doomben Class 4 and is one of the main chances here.

Ultimate Ring hasn’t been that far off the pace of late with three fourths from his last four starts, including a last start fourth as favourite in a 1666m Ipswich Class 3 Plate and looks suited here.

Twilighter will get every chance from the inside gate and is dropping back to mid-week class and in distance after an eighth in a 2112m BenchMark 72 Handicap at Eagle Farm on August 15 and Lacey Lynx Pack is fitter for one run back from a spell.

Race 6 - 3:28pm

Maiden Handicap (1400m)

Loud Noise has been runner up at his last two starts at the Sunshine Coast and at Ipswich in Maiden class and gets his chance to find the winner’s stall with the blinkers going on for the first time.

From Now has been placed three of his last four starts and has claims on his most recent second in a 1650m Doomben Maiden.

First starter Hot Bahama has won a recent 1000m Gold Coast barrier trial and the betting will be the best guide and Traduce has one placing from five starts and has finished second in a recent 1000m Gold Coast barrier trial.

Race 7 - 4:03pm

BenchMark 68 Handicap (1400m)

Chris Waller has two strong chances here with Lubuk and Toomai. Lubuk is coming off last start fourth in a Canterbury 1550m BenchMark 72 Handicap while Toomai is a last start winner in a 1400m Gold Coast BenchMark 65 Handicap.

Suilven and Centrefire are set to clash again after finishing first and second in a 1350m Doomben BenchMark 70 Handicap.

Race 8 - 4:38pm

0 – 70 Rating Handicap (1000m)

Leadership Spill is resuming after a short break and is dropping back to mid-week company following his latest sixth in an 1100m Gold Coast 3yo Handicap in April and has finished second in a recent 840m Doomben barrier trial.

Molly’s Rocking was spelled after finished twelfth in a 1200m Gold Coast BenchMark 72 Handicap in Marchand has a handy first up record.

Look for a better showing from Paper Trade from the inside gate and Invincore is resuming and has been prepared for his first up run with a win in a recent 1000m Gold Coast barrier trial.
