Peter Moody’s Turnbull Stakes Tips

Champion trainer Peter Moody doesn’t have a runner in the Turnbull Stakes, but he is confident that he has found the winner at the juicy odds of $16!

He has analysed the field and his complete 2020 Turnbull Stakes tips are now available.

Winner – Dalasan

It has been a while since Dalasan has won, but he has been racing at the highest level throughout his career and I think that he is the value runner in the Turnbull Stakes field.

Jamie Kah is riding in unbelievable form at the moment and I think that she will really gel with this horse.

Raquel Clark had a great record on him early in his career and I think Kah is a great booking.

Dalasan has no pressure, will get a great run in transit and is nicely weighted.

I liked the way that he found the line in the Makybe Diva Stakes and he gives me the impression that he will relish the step-up to 2000 metres.

A few of his main dangers in this field have targets that are still a run or two away, while Dalasan is fourth-up and ready to peak.

2nd – Surprise Baby

I have a big opinion of Surprise Baby.

He found the line nicely in the Feehan Stakes first-up and the step-up to 2000 metres, as well as the return to Flemington, is ideal for him.

The Melbourne Cup is his major target, but I still expect him to find the line strongly in the Turnbull Stakes and he is a genuine winning chance.

3rd – Vow And Declare

Danny O’Brien has given a good push for Melbourne Cup winner Vow And Declare throughout the week and he could be ready to return to his best form.

There is no doubt that he is a much better horse than his first-up effort suggests and he is another galloper that will relish the step-up in trip.

$26 is a huge price for a horse with his ability.

4th – Django Freeman

Django Freeman is an import that still has plenty of upside and it wouldn’t shock to see him stamp himself as a genuine Spring Racing Carnival contender.

This is the toughest test that he has faced since he arrived in Australia, but he is a lightly-raced galloper and trainer Robert Hickmott has a big opinion of him.
