2020 PGA Tour Bermuda Championship Round 4 Odds and Betting Preview

  • Doc Redman leads by one shot over three golfers after 54 holes at the Bermuda Championship
  • Ten players within three shots of the lead leave the tournament wide open
  • See the updated live odds at Port Royal Golf Course heading into Sunday’s final round

Through three rounds, it’s anybody’s ball game at the Bermuda Championship, with 22-year-old prodigy Doc Redman in the lead after firing a 4-under 67 on moving day. Not only is Redman looking for his breakthrough victory on the PGA Tour, but several other players behind him also haven’t won on the biggest stage in their career. Pre-event favorite Will Zalatoris finds himself five strokes off the pace as he’s also searching for his first triumph.

Heading into the tournament it was completely wide open with Brendon Todd the lone top-50 player in the world competing, meaning the odds to win for the golfers were lower than they normally would be for the caliber of players that they are. Redman found himself as the fifth favorite at +2700 but now he’s sitting at +250 to win his maiden title.

Read on to see the updated odds and the best bets to make for Sunday’s final round.

Doc Redman Holding Onto Precarious Lead

2017 US Amateur champion Doc Redman has been close to pulling out a victory a few times in his young PGA Tour career, namely the 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic where he finished second, his best result on tour. He leads the pack at the Bermuda Championship by a stroke despite ranking just T-11th in greens in regulation and 19th in putts per GIR.

Redman has had a pair of strong showings in his last five tournaments, where he was T-3rd at both the Safeway Open and Wyndham Championship, but he also has two missed cuts and a T-28th during that span. Considering he’s never won on the PGA Tour, and the fact he’s not dominating tee-to-green or putting this week gives me great pause in wagering on him at such a low +250 number.

Immediately behind him is Wyndham Clark, who’s found himself with a handful of chances throughout his career to get in the winner’s circle but has fallen down the leaderboard on Sunday.

He’s second in driving distance and fourth in putts per green in regulation this week, and he’s been in the thick of more events in his career than Redman and can draw upon that Sunday. His +500 odds, which are double that of the leader, would seem much more appealing.

Best Live Value Picks for Bermuda Championship

  1. Ryan Armour (+800): The lone player in the top-four who has hoisted a trophy on the PGA Tour, Armour hasn’t posted overly impressive stats this week apart from putting, but he knows what it takes to win and is just a shot back. All-or-nothing type player, as he came in not playing very well but when he gets in contention he tends to stick near the top of the board.
  2. Brian Gay (+2000): The wily 48-year-old veteran is second in driving accuracy this week, which is critical to success because of the high winds and difficult course thus far. Four times a winner on tour so he knows how to get it done in crunch time. Had his best putting day of the week Saturday, which is his bread and butter.
  3. Peter Malnati (+3300): We were high on him coming into the week because he’s been second and fifth in his two previous events and is first in strokes gained putting in the early season. T-1st in birdies this week, where he’s made 15 and second in putts per GIR. Four shots back but he’s not afraid to go low, shooting a blistering 63 on Sunday when he came second at the Sanderson Farms Championship and a final round 66 for his T-5th at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.
