Peter Moody’s Melbourne Cup Tips

He may not have a runner in the 2020 Melbourne Cup, but champion trainer Peter Moody is still very much looking forward to ‘the race that stops a nation’.

Moods has analysed the entire field and his complete 2020 Melbourne Cup tips can be found below!

Winner – Tiger Moth

Aidan O’Brien has worked out the type of horses that he needs to send to Australia to win our big races and I think he will win the Melbourne Cup with Tiger Moth after narrowly missing out on both the Caulfield Cup and the Ladbrokes Cox Plate.

Tiger Moth is thrown in at the weights based on his European form and he gives me the impression that he will thrive under Australian racing conditions.

2nd – Verry Elleegant

Connections have always been confident that Verry Elleegant can run out a strong 3200 metres and if she does that she will prove awfully hard to beat in the Melbourne Cup.

Anthony Van Dyck looked as though he would go right past her in the Caulfield Cup, but she was in for the fight and she proved her staying credentials once and for all.

The $13 currently available is well and truly over the odd!

3rd – Master Of Reality

I am confident that Master Of Reality will be right in the mix in the Melbourne Cup again.

The Melbourne Cup has always been his major target this season and he heads into this contest on the back of a good win in the Her Majesty’s Palace.

You can never rule out Lloyd Williams in the Melbourne Cup and Master Of Reality is a horse that really appeals at his current odds with Ladbrokes.

4th – Prince Of Arran

Prince Of Arran is an absolute marvel and there is no reason that he won’t be in the mix in the Melbourne Cup again after finishing third in 2018 and second in 2019.

He goes to another level when he arrives in Australia and there was plenty to like about the way that he found the line in the Caulfield Cup.

Jamie Kah in the saddle is an advantage, she is absolutely flying, and I am confident that he will be in the finish.
