Ladbrokes Park Preview – Wednesday 2nd December

Ladbrokes Park will host eight talent-rich races on Wednesday, December 2nd.

The rail will be set out eight metres around the entire course and at publish, the track is rated a Good 4.

Race 1 - 3:20pm AEDT

Ladbrokes Switch Handicap (1600m)

Yulong Premier has improved for three starts and is ready to break his maiden.

The Pierro gelding raced greenly at each of his first two competitive starts, but ran home well to finish second at Benalla last time out.

With further improvement from that effort and with Craig Williams in the saddle, he’ll be fighting out the finish again.

Race 2 - 3:55pm AEDT

IVE Print Handicap (1300m)

Ord looks to be an above-average galloper and can break his maiden at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The Written Tycoon gelding filled the minors behind Yes Sir at Wodonga on debut and raced home well to finish second at Geelong last time out.

Fitter third-up, getting slightly further out in trip and with Nash Rawiller in the saddle, he’s ready to win.

Race 3 - 4:30pm AEDT

Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1000m)

Every horse stepping out in Race 3 at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday is on debut and at publish, a Vancouver filly trained by Team Hawkes is a very firm favourite.

I can’t find an angle I’m particularly keen on and I’m happy to stay out of this.

No Bet

Race 4 - 5:05pm AEDT

Thoroughbred Club Handicap (1000m)

This shapes as one of the day’s more open contests, and a horse like Carlingford has claims on winning at a lovely price ($9 at publish).

Carlingford returned to the races for an impressive win in BM64 company on Kyneton Cup Day and raced well further up in class last time out, filling the minors behind Vowmaster at The Valley.

He’ll only improve for that effort, the 1000m is his pet trip and he’ll get some relief in the weights.

Race 5 - 5:40pm AEDT

The Big Screen Company Handicap (1400m)

Chequerboard is a talented racehorse and can return to winning form in Race 5 at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The Fastnet Rock filly won two of three starts during her debut preparation and returned to the races for a credible third behind Hindaam at Bendigo.

She was far from disgraced in the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes here second-up, and she’ll appreciate a decent drop in class this week.

Race 6 - 6:15pm AEDT

Tile Importer Handicap (1300m)

This is a tough one to analyse, but Lady D’Oro’s best form and luck from the potentially awkward draw would be good enough to win.

The Medaglia D’oro returned to the races at Traralgon in late October and mustered an eye-catxhing turn of foot to score a comfortable win, with 60kgs in tow.

If she finds a spot in transit from the barrier, she’ll take beating.

3 Units Lady D’oro

Race 7 - 6:45pm AEDT

Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap (1800m)

Redwood Rising will take winning form into the penultimate contest at Ladbrokes Park this week and can continue his rise through the grades.

The Redwood gelding has been a consistent performer since making his debut, and stripped fitter from a credible fresh performance at Cranbourne when a smart winner at Moe last time out.

The rise in trip will suit, he’ll get a nice relief in the weights, and he’s drawn to receive a lovely run.

2 Units E/W Redwood Rising

Race 8 - 7:15pm AEDT

Ladbrokes Handicap (1400m)

It took O’tauto a few starts to find his best this preparation, but he is rock-hard fit and this looks a winnable race for him.

The O’Lonhro didn’t measure up in better races at The Valley and Flemington earlier this prep, but ran home respectably to fill the minors at Cranbourne last time out.

This looks an ideal race for him, and the $10 available at publish could prove over to the odds.

2 Units E/W O’tauto
