May 31st NBA Props – Best Player Prop Bets for 76ers vs Wizards, Jazz vs Grizzlies

  • It’s two #1 vs #8 matchups on May 31st as the Sixers and Jazz meet the Wizards and Grizzlies
  • Philadelphia is looking to wrap up their series while Utah holds a 2-1 lead over Memphis
  • Read below for Monday’s player props and some best bets for tonight’s action

There are just two NBA games on the schedule for Monday night. The road teams are favored in both instances, with the Philadelphia 76ers eight-point favorites over the Washington Wizards for a matchup in the capital.

Hoping to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, the Utah Jazz are -5 favorites for Game 4 against Memphis. The Grizzlies have put up a fight in the series, but the three-point shooting of the Jazz has been the difference in Games 2 and 3. Donovan Mitchell’s return has brought some buzz back to the Utah offense, too.

Odds as of May 31

Beal’s Scoring

Bradley Beal is playing huge minutes. His 34 minutes in Game 2 was his lowest workload of the series, and he’s averaging over 25 field goal attempts per game. The All-Star guard has gone over 31.5 points in two of the three games in the series so far, and scored 42 or more in two of his last four regular season outings. While a 31.5 scoring line seems outrageously high, this is everyday stuff for Beal, who was only narrowly beaten to the scoring title by Steph Curry.

The Sixers defense deserves some credit for how they have dealt with Beal. He went 10-for-26 from the field in Game 3. There’s also been some uncharacteristically poor shooting from the three-time All-Star, resulting in an ugly three-for-20 mark from downtown in the series.

It’s too late for Beal to make this a competitive series, but even against the length of the Sixers, it’s reasonable to expect an improvement in his perimeter shooting.

With Philly blowing out the Wizards in the last two games, betting Monday’s player props is partly reliant on this being a close enough game for Beal to stay on the floor. Even in those losses, though, Beal was well over 30 minutes, and if he drains a few more threes, he should easily hit this points over.

Playing to keep their season alive, this could be another explosive night from one of the NBA’s must-watch guards.

  • Pick: Bradley Beal over 31.5 points (-106)

Conley Has Space

Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert’s pick-and-roll chemistry has flourished this season. Quin Snyder pairs their minutes, and it has been a staple of Utah’s offense. Conley has exceptional on/off numbers as a result, and there were signs in Game 3 of how Conley can benefit from Gobert’s vertical spacing.

The Grizzlies have struggled to contain the Frenchman as both a lob threat and rebounder. Overplaying Gobert creates space in the lane, allowing Conley to make plays (he’s gone 11, 15 and eight in assists so far in this series) or to drop in a few of his trademark floaters. Gobert diving to the hoop also creates space for the perimeter ball handlers to let rip from the outside. Conley went seven-for-10 from three-point land in Game 3.

Conley averages over 34 points and assists per game in this series. FanDuel have set the line at 25.5 for Monday’s game. With Dillon Brooks on the Donovan Mitchell assignment and the defense constantly worried about Gobert, the former Memphis point guard has been able to put up some big numbers.

That should continue in Game 4. If he continues the hot shooting, Conley might get by 25.5 in points alone. If not, he’s creating enough good looks for his teammates for the assists to carry this one home.

  • Pick: Mike Conley over 25.5 points and assists (-122)
