Suns vs Clippers Game 6 Player Props and Best Bets – June 30th

  • The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers play Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday June, 30th
  • Los Angeles extended the series with a remarkable Game 5 win in Arizona
  • Read below for the latest player props and best bets

The Los Angeles Clippers are once again looking to force a Game 7. Ty Lue’s team put in a wonderful performance in Game 5 to lengthen this series. They return to Staples Center in a must-win scenario, but that’s a position this team has thrived in throughout the playoffs. The latest odds even have the Clips as narrow favorites.

Phoenix’s offense has looked clunky in recent games. They battled to a couple of ugly wins, but the scoring struggles of Devin Booker and Chris Paul are now a concern for Monty Williams. Having taken a commanding 3-1 lead, the Suns are one road loss away from the lottery of a Game 7.

Booker Fires From Deep

Devin Booker has not been himself on the offensive end since that majestic 40-point triple-double in Game 1. The mask has caused him problems. The Clippers’ defense has been ferocious. Booker has carried a heavy load in these playoffs, and is perhaps suffering from fatigue.

The volume of his shooting has stuck. He’s taken 65 shots across the last three games. Across Games 3 and 4, Booker went one-for-12 from three. He broke out of a perimeter shooting slump with four-for-six in Game 5. While this was only the fifth game these playoffs in which he’s made over 2.5 threes, it looked like a slump-breaker.

There’s naturally going to be caution in backing Booker on over 2.5 threes. The +148 price is a tempter, but Booker is in just the 11th percentile for rate of three-point shots in these playoffs. He’s still a mid-range master, and that’s a key factor when it comes to betting the over on his threes made.

The All-Star guard has made 25 or more points in five of his last seven games. It’s a shorter price, but the best bet here might be a small parlay on Booker’s overall scoring and threes.

  • Pick: Devin Booker to score 25+ points and 2+ threes (-126)

Lue Backs Reggie

Rajon Rondo was a DNP in Game 5. Luke Kennard has been relentlessly attacked on the defensive end. In Kawhi Leonard’s absence, Reggie Jackson has been Ty Lue’s second go-to man, and it has worked. Lue has adjusted to make sure at least one of Jackson and Paul George are on the court. Jackson is far from a pure point guard, but he’s spending more time with the ball in his hands than anyone other than George.

Anyone with internet access has seen Jackson’s outrageous playoff numbers. He’s scoring a lot. He’s doing it efficiently. His points line continues to rise, sitting at 20.5 for Game 6. Jackson has scored over 20.5 in five of his last seven games.

It’s easy to assume that this hot streak will end. Even if it does, though, Jackson’s role in the offense is unlikely to diminish at this stage. He’s still going to shoot plenty of perimeter shots and have the ball in his hands to give George respite. The former Pistons guard has taken 89 field goal attempts in this series, 39 more than any other Clipper.

The Suns may get more aggressive in their defense of George. If so, Jackson’s role as a playmaker will increase in the halfcourt. He’s hovered around three assists for most of these playoffs, but that could increase in Game 6 as the Suns make adjustments. At only four higher than the points line, adding the assists provides a bit of insurance.

  • Pick: Reggie Jackson over 24.5 points and assists (-106)
