Daily Harness Tips – Wednesday 1st December

Bathurst - Race 2 6:39PM AEDT

No. 2 Ballerini

Somewhat of an enigma, this Bernie Hewitt prepared three-year-old made an unglamorous start to her career, failing to place at her first six starts. However, in the past three months she has stamped herself as one of the states most exciting young horses.

This was on display at her most recent start, winning her heat of this race by a comfortable 21.2m, clocking the fastest time of any heat, across both tracks in the process.

Drawn to lead or settle close throughout from barrier two, this $30,000 Group Three event should be nothing more than a procession for the daughter Bettors Delight.

Bathurst - Race 5 8:16PM AEDT

No. 1 Triple Eight

As dominant as the favourite runner Expensive Ego was when winning his InterDominion Heat Saturday, it was hard to ignore the run of Triple Eight behind Malcolm’s Rhythm.

After intelligently navigating his way out of a deep peg pocket, driver Greg Sugars chased this well performed gelding home into fourth placing beaten 1.8m, clocking the fastest final 400m split of the night!

Drawn ideally in barrier one, the son of American Ideal maps to settle no worse than three-fence with Sugars aboard once more, and with a sprint lane in play around the smaller track, he seems a brilliant bet.

Bathurst - Race 6 8:46PM AEST

No. 1 Robyns Playboy

The only international raider for this years series, Robyns Playboy was travelling strongly and looked likely to run a clear second place in his InterDominion heat five days ago, but made an error upon straightening.

Provided better manners are on display here, it looks as though this Robbie Morris driven five-year-old will enjoy an economical run in transit from barrier one, mapped to settle behind leader or three-fence at worst.

Given his high turn of speed and the likely nature of this race, the Shadow Play gelding looks a leading chance and a terrific each-way bet.
