Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday 1st March

Bendigo - Race 5 3:30pm AEDT

No. 8 Surin Beach

Surin Beach placed over this track and trip two runs back and is capable of much better than his latest start over 1800m at Sandown.

He had excuses that day racing wide in transit, and I’m not sure the trip suited him at all.

Back to the mile looks ideal, especially with Damien Thornton on board, who has ridden him to a pair of wins and a couple of placings in the past. Form from that Sandown run also reads well with Castereagh Kid going on to win the Autumn Classic at Caulfield on Saturday.

Bendigo - Race 6 4:00pm AEDT

No. 7 Siren Rock

Siren Rock was a clear winner two back at Benalla over further and was far from disgraced in his latest at Warrnambool.

He’s performed admirably in a few starts at this grade now, and should be plenty fit now with three runs under his belt.

The son of Lonhro gave a good chase over 1400m last time out, so back to 1300m should suit, while his perfect 2-0 record on soft going also reads well.

Goulburn - Race 5 3:40pm AEDT

No. 4 Allusionist

Allusionist broke his maiden two weeks ago by a clear margin at Nowra and looks capable of going on with it now.

The Freedman-trained three-year-old is a genuine type that has found the money in five of his nine starts to date, while he’s also raced well on rain-affected going in the past.

He kicked home strongly after taking up the lead at Nowra and will likely take a similar sit here with apprentice Qin Yong retaining the ride.

Goulburn - Race 6 4:20pm AEDT

No. 1 Highly Desired

Highly Desired is a perfect 2-0 at Goulburn and has also performed extremely well first-up in the past.

He’s got some big weight to carry around in his return to the races, but his record over 1300m and his soft track form both read extremely well for this.

The Clair Lever-trained seven-year-old should push forward form out wide and prove tough to run down.
