Kelly took his first loss of the season Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers at home, giving up three runs on seven hits in six innings with four strikeouts and two walks.

Kelly is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA in two career starts against the Cardinals. In his lone appearance at Busch Stadium, Kelly allowed four runs (one earned) in five innings of a loss.

This will be Kelly’s second road start of the season. He got his lone win on April 20 at Washington when he limited the Nationals to one run in five innings. Kelly’s only daytime start resulted in a no-decision on April 13 against the visiting Houston Astros when he allowed one run in 5.1 innings.

The Cardinals’ Nolan Arenado is 3 for 7 against Kelly with a double and a home run.

Mikolas took a tough no-decision Monday against the New York Mets as he pitched seven shutout innings. He gave up four hits and one walk and struck out five.

Mikolas has a win in his only career decision against the Diamondbacks to go with a 2.61 ERA in three games (one start). Fitting perhaps that a guy who once ate a lizard does well against the Snakes.

In two home starts this season, Mikolas is 0-0 with a 1.69 ERA. He is 1-0 with a 3.48 in three starts during the day.
