Daily Racing Tips – Saturday 2nd July

Rosehill - Race 7 2:35pm AEST

No. 4 Per Inaway

Per Inaway looks set to peak now in her third run back.

Kris Lees’ lightly raced filly was a comfortable winner first-up before finding the tempo not to her liking over 1300m a couple of weeks ago.

She’s still a slight query racing on top of the ground, but if Hugh Bowman can take her to the front, she’ll be hard to run down.

Rosehill - Race 8 3:15pm AEST

No. 5 Wicklow

Wicklow looks capable of taking the next step after producing one of the wins of the day at Rosehill a fortnight ago.

The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old found himself behind a wall of horses entering the straight, only to find a late gap with 200m to spare on his way to a narrow win.

He seemed to have plenty left in the tank when crossing the line and he’s no query over 1800m with two wins on the board. Fitter now third-up, he’ll take beating.

Flemington - Race 7 3:30pm AEST

No. 5 Sartorial Splendor

Sartorial Splendor is having his second run back after finishing a narrow runner-up to Saturday’s rival Zac De Boss over a touch shorter.

The son of Brazen Beau led for most of the way and just lacked the fitness over the final stages, a run he can only improve on now getting out over further.

He’s won here at Flemington in the past, and better yet, gets in with a couple of kg’s off.

Flemington - Race 8 4:10pm AEST

No. 5 Looks Like Elvis

Looks Like Elvis is a good value bet in this year’s Winter Championship Final.

His win two back over 1400m was full of merit, and he was strong to the line last week at Randwick running third in the Civic Stakes.

He’s drawn another horror gate, but he has won previously on a quick backup. Two wins and six placings over the mile also reads well, while Linda Meech getting back into the saddle is a plus.
