Georgia Betting Trends

Though this year’s Georgia Bulldogs may look different than in years past, Kirby Smart’s team is just as dominant.

Quarterback Stetson Bennett has done an impeccable job leading the Bulldogs’ offense. Bennett has thrown for 16 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while leading Georgia to another undefeated regular season.

Make no mistake, this Georgia team is a juggernaut.

Through Week 13, the Bulldogs rank top ten in the nation in points per game, yards per game, points per play, and yards per play on both sides of the football.

Although the Bulldogs will miss pass-rushing extraordinaire Nolan Smith, the rest of the defense can more than pick up the slack. Though Georgia is just 6-6 against the spread this season, the Bulldogs are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games in December. Plus, the under is 6-1-1 in Georgia’s last eight games following a win of over 20 points.

LSU Betting Trends

Tigers supporters will be ecstatic all the way to kickoff. Following an early-season setback to Florida State, fans and experts alike ruled LSU out of the SEC competition. Everybody was wrong about this LSU team.

Brian Kelly has energized the program in his first year in Baton Rouge. Barring last week’s 38-23 loss to Texas A&M as 10-point favorites, and a drubbing at the hands of Tennessee, the Tigers have been a competitive football team all year long.

However, LSU’s chances in this game will be defined by the status of quarterback Jayden Daniels. The sparkplug of this Tigers’ attack, Daniels left last week’s loss multiple times with what reports say is an ankle sprain. If the Arizona State transfer can’t go, look for second-year quarterback Garrett Nussmeier to start in the SEC Championship game.

LSU has looked fantastic against Alabama and Ole Miss this year. Despite that, LSU’s 34th-ranked offense will struggle to score without their star. The betting trends favor LSU in this SEC Championship game, as the Tigers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in December. Moreover, LSU is 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five meetings with Georgia.

Georgia vs LSU Prediction

With such a high spread in a conference championship game, this matchup is difficult to predict. At the same time, the betting trends tell the tale.

While the over is 5-1 in the last six LSU games, Jayden Daniels started each of those for the Tigers. Additionally, the over has hit in four of the last five Georgia vs LSU games in Georgia. That being said, it seems as if Daniels will be limited, should he play at all in Saturday’s game.

Much like last year, Georgia is likely to receive a berth in the College Football Playoff regardless of the result of Saturday’s game. Furthermore, Kirby Smart will prioritize the health of his squad over anything else. Though it may not be a glamorous wager, the value in betting Georgia vs LSU is on the under.

Pick: Georgia vs LSU UNDER 51.5 (-110)
