Ladbrokes Park Lakeside will play host to Victoria’s major metro meeting this Wednesday with another quality eight-race card.
The weather is overcast, the track a Good 4, and the rail is out 3m across the circuit.
As always, we’ve analysed the entire meeting and our best bets can be found here!
Race 1 - 2:05pm AEDT
Forever More was slow away on debut at Bendigo a couple of weeks ago but really found an extra gear to finish runner-up in the end.
The Starspangledbanner filly has drawn to get a much kinder run in transit from the soft gate, and she does get a slight upgrade in the saddle with Jordan Childs in the saddle.
It’s tough to judge the early speed on paper, but if the pair can settle handy they should be hard to hold out.

Race 2 - 2:40pm AEDT
Gusmao is an eight-start maiden that has gone very close on multiple occasions.
He returned quite well at Geelong last month when beaten three-quarters of a length after making up good ground off the speed.
A change in tactics is likely from the wide gate, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Damian Lane tries his luck up front. Beaten only a length at Ballarat second-up during his maiden prep, he’ll be right in the mix.

Race 3 - 3:15pm AEDT
Colombe D’or is a tough mare to get a feel for, but her best is certainly good enough to win a race like this.
The Rubick four-year-old was a dominant winner on debut at Geelong in very wet conditions and has since resumed to run back-to-back placings at Cranbourne and Pakenham.
She was a touch too keen over-racing in the early stages last time out, but I think the step back to 1400m from the mile should help her improve.

Race 4 - 3:50pm AEDT
Duke Of Hastings gets his chance now coming off a strong effort at Flemington over shorter last week.
Harry Coffey rode him a peach that day from a very awkward draw, working into the clear late where he was simply no match for the leaders.
He comes into this hard fit now with three runs under his belt and this does look a touch easier on paper.

Race 5 - 4:25pm AEDT
Quite keen to see Mr I’m A Believer back to a firmer track.
The Moody-trained four-year-old was a winner of his maiden at Geelong at the start of the year and was beaten less than a length at The Valley out to 2040m a month later.
He comes into this assignment with a good gap between runs and Luke Nolen has a good feel for him now. Out to a bigger track now, he should be hard to beat.

Race 6 - 5:00pm AEDT
Three Rings overcame an awkward start at The Valley first-up to fill the minors with an impressive run home.
The Zoustar three-year-old had plenty of work to do from out wide but still finished strongly in his first run back since the spring.
A bigger track should be to his liking here with the blinkers on for the first time.

Race 7 - 5:30pm AEDT
Unusual Culture has missed the money only three times from nine career starts and rates a serious winning chance in an open race.
The Maher and Eustace-trained mare has found the money in both runs back at this venue this time in work, and I quite like the fact Jamie Kah sticks in the saddle.
The pair were held up at the top of the straight last time out but were strong to the line once clear. Back on a firmer track, they’ll take beating.

Race 8 - 6:00pm AEDT
Tricky race with a few of these in winning form.
Diamond Model added a second win to her resume over the mile at The Valley two runs back but was a little too keen over the same track and distance a couple of weeks later.
She’s worth forgiving on that effort considering she was caught four-wide no cover at one point. The wide gate leaves Daniel Moor with a job to do, but I suspect we’ll see the pair roll forward early and give their rivals something to catch.
