NHL next team odds as of June 25 at DraftKings Sportsbook. These markets shift frequently, so odds are subject to change.

Vegas Becomes the Runaway Favorite

The Golden Knights have gone from +650 to -175 favorites in a matter of weeks. That’s not normal movement. That’s the kind of shift that happens when real information hits the market.

Elliotte Friedman mentioned on his “32 Thoughts” podcast that Vegas is now seen as the frontrunner. Adding fuel to the fire, Frank Seravalli reported that Marner and his wife have been spotted house-hunting in Las Vegas. You don’t check out real estate unless you’re serious about a move.

Marner just came off a 102-point season and reportedly wants to prove Toronto wrong by winning in the playoffs. Vegas is a perfect place to do that. They won the Cup in 2023 and stay competitive year after year. Plus, Marner has reportedly ruled out Carolina and Columbus, narrowing the field considerably.

He’s expected to ask for $12 to $14 million per year. Vegas has $9.6 million in cap space right now, and if Alex Pietrangelo ends up on LTIR, that could free up another $8.8 million.. They’ve got pathways to make this work.

  • Marner Next Team Pick: Vegas Golden Knights (-175)

Brad Marchand Next Team Odds

Team Odds
FLA Panthers -115
TOR Maple Leafs +350
UTA Mammoth +1500
MTL Canadiens +2000
LA Kings +2000
DAL Stars +2000
VGK Golden Knights +2200
TB Lightning +2500
NY Rangers +3000
NJ Devils +3000

Panthers Look to Keep Their Playoff Hero

Talk about a turnaround. Florida opened at 19-1 to retain Marchand and now sits at -115 favorites. The 37-year-old veteran just helped the Panthers win back-to-back Cups, scoring 10 goals and 20 points in 23 playoff games.

Recent reports suggest there’s a “good chance” Marchand stays in Florida. The tax advantage matters. Marchand himself acknowledged that playing in a no-income-tax state “absolutely matters” when choosing between similar offers. After 15 straight years in Boston without winning, he’s already captured a Cup in Florida. Why leave now?

But don’t sleep on Toronto at +350. Marchand grew up a Leafs fan in Nova Scotia and openly admitted it during the playoffs. The Leafs have $25.7 million in cap space and desperately need his playoff experience. Nick Kypreos thinks he’s Toronto-bound, saying he doesn’t “know how he doesn’t end up as a Maple Leaf.”

Marchand is likely looking at a four-year deal worth around $32 million. That’s a solid raise from his previous $6.125 million average salary.

Marchand Next Team Picks:

  • Florida Panthers (-115)
  • Value Play: Toronto Maple Leafs (+350)

Brock Boeser Next Team Odds

Team Odds
MIN Wild +320
BOS Bruins +650
MTL Canadiens +1000
LA Kings +1000
DET Red Wings +1000
UTA Mammoth +1400
ANA Ducks +2000
VGK Golden Knights +2000
VAN Canucks +2000
TOR Maple Leafs +2000

Boeser Heading Home to Minnesota

Boeser is from Burnsville, Minnesota, and has already said he’s unlikely to re-sign with Vancouver. Now, Nick Kypreos reports that Boeser is “on the verge of signing a long-term deal” with his hometown Wild once free agency opens.

Minnesota needs more scoring behind Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy. Boeser fits that role perfectly. He had a quiet year with 50 points, but he posted 40 goals and 73 points the season before. The geographic connection and roster fit make this a natural marriage.

Boston is the other top option at +650. Don Sweeney has shown long-standing interest, and the Bruins “went hard for him last summer” according to reports. They famously passed on Boeser three times in the 2015 draft before Vancouver grabbed him 23rd overall.

Boeser reportedly turned down a five-year, $40 million offer from Vancouver. He’s looking for either a longer deal or a fresh start. Expect contract offers in the $8.2 to $8.5 million range per year.

  • Boeser Next Team Pick: Minnesota Wild (+320)

Nikolaj Ehlers Next Team Odds

Team Odds
CAR Hurricanes +500
WPG Jets +700
BOS Bruins +1200
ANA Ducks +1200
VAN Canucks +1500
UTA Mammoth +1500
NY Rangers +1500
NY Islanders +1500
MTL Canadiens +1500
DET Red Wings +1500

Carolina’s System Perfect for Ehlers

The Hurricanes lead Ehlers’ next team odds for good reason. He’s an “analytics darling” who excels in transition, exactly what Carolina’s possession-based system demands. His top recorded speed of 22.98 mph placed him in the 98th percentile among NHL skaters. That speed would thrive in Rod Brind’Amour’s relentless system.

The Hurricanes have $28 million in cap space and need someone who can convert scoring chances into actual goals. They’ve reached the Eastern Conference Finals multiple times but haven’t taken the next step. Ehlers could help them get there.

Winnipeg sits at +700 to retain him, but limited top-line opportunity remains the sticking point. The Jets won’t outbid other suitors if the price exceeds Connor Hellebuyck and Mark Scheifele’s $8.5 million deals. Friedman reports Ehlers prioritizes winning over money, which could push him toward Carolina’s championship window.

The 28-year-old winger just posted 24 goals and 63 points in 69 games. Over the past two seasons, he’s scored 49 goals and 124 points in 151 games.

  • Ehlers Next Team Pick: Carolina Hurricanes (+500)
