Nearly a quarter of the way through the 2025 NFL regular season, our A.I. continues to struggle with its predictions. It is, however, coming off its most successful week of the season (maybe least unsuccessful would be more accurate). Perhaps with another week of data to work with, Week 5 will set a new benchmark.

In the table below, I have set out our A.I.’s NFL picks for Week 5, including its ATS and O/U prediction for all 14 games (four teams – ATL, CHI, GB, PIT – are on bye).

Week 4 was the best of the season so far for our A.I.’s picks, but that’s not saying much. The A.I.’s best bets were 6-8 against the spread and 7-7 over/under in Week 4 heading into the MNF doubleheader, where it has Jets +2.5 and under 45.5 in the first game, and Bengals +7.5 and under 44.5 in the second.

Our A.I. remains well below .500 on both its ATS and O/U picks almost a quarter of the way through the season.

NFL Week 5 A.I. Picks Still Love Unders

The NFL Week 5 A.I. picks lean heavily towards unders, which it has every week this season. The Week 5 O/U picks include ten under bets and just four over bets.

The only overs it is betting in Week 5 are: Raiders vs Colts (over 48.5), Cowboys vs Jets (over 47.5), Dolphins vs Panthers (over 44.5), and Lions vs Bengals (over 49.5).

The A.I. had hit just two of its 11 over wagers heading into Week 4, but went 3-1 on over bets on Sunday in Week 4, hitting on:

  • Eagles vs Buccaneers – Over 45.5
  • Ravens vs Chiefs – Over 48.5
  • Packers vs Cowboys – Over 48.5

A.I. NFL Picks for Week 5 Evenly Split Between Favorites and Underdogs

Our A.I. picks in the first four weeks leaned towards favorites each time. Week 5 marks the first time that it has picked just as many underdogs to cover the spread as chalk.

That perhaps makes some internal sense since the A.I. had its best week picking underdogs in Week 4, going 3-2 ATS. It was just 5-14 ATS picking underdogs in the first three weeks of the season.
