After a decisive 6-1 win on Wednesday, the Toronto Blue Jays (103-74, 59-30 home) lead the Los Angeles Dodgers (104-73, 46-40 away) 3-2 in the best-of-seven World Series. Toronto will have a chance to claim its first title 1993 when the series shifts back to Toronto for Game 6 on Hallowe’en.

Game 6 is scheduled for 8:00 pm ET at the Rogers Centre on Friday, October 31st. With Game 2 star Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound, the Dodgers are slight favorites to stave off elimination. Kevin Gausman is slated to start for the Jays.

The Dodgers, who were between -174 and -190 in the World Series odds ahead of Game 5, have faded as long as +210 at Caesars after falling behind 3-2.

The Blue Jays’ odds have improved to -235 or shorter. Toronto’s shortest price ahead of their Game 5 victory was +145.

Yamamoto twirled an absolute gem on the road in Game 2, pitching a complete game four-hitter, allowing just one run while striking out eight.

Gausman wasn’t bad as Yamamoto’s Game 2 counterpart, but he was decidedly second-best that day. The 34-year-old righty allowed three runs on just four hits and no walks over 6.2 innings with six Ks.

He’s now held the Dodger lineup to a .228 average and .741 OPS in a large sample size of 180 at-bats.

For the vast majority of the Jays, Game 2 was the first time they had faced Yamamoto.
