How to Watch Every MLB Opening Day Games: Streaming Info & More

The 2026 MLB Opening Day kicks off with the New York Yankees taking on the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, March 25th. This is Netflix’s first live broadcast of a professional baseball game and marks the start of the streaming giant’s three-year deal with the MLB that will include Opening Night, the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, and the MLB at the Field of Dreams game in August.

Watch MLB games live all season on FuboTV.

After Netflix’s exclusive Opening Night game, viewers can expect a more typical viewing experience for their favorite teams during the Thursday slate of games. Fans watching through their cable provider can tune into their local regional sports network or on the team’s dedicated channel. Recently, many cable networks have shifted away from carrying regional sports networks, allowing the MLB step in and create team specific channels for both cable TV and streaming.

Adding a bit of confusion to the start of the season is the exit of Fanduel Sports Network, a media product of Main Street Sports Group, from multiple licensing deals with MLB teams. Last year, the network partnered with and broadcast the games of six teams, including the Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tampa Bay Rays, with the Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, and Los Angeles Angels initially signed on for 2026.

While many of these teams have since landed with the MLB’s dedicated team channel plan, others have had to scramble to find a new plan. Local Detroit Tigers fans have been left wondering where exactly they will be able to watch Opening Day. For now, it looks like they can tune into Detroit SportsNet, which has streamed several spring training games for the Tigers, but the move to the network has not been finalized.

How to Stream MLB Opening Day

Opening Night will be exclusively streamed on Netflix. For the remainder of the Opening Day slate, fans will have several streaming options to choose from, depending on the games and packages available to them. Fubo offers the most comprehensive coverage of a team for fans in the market, as they carry the regional sports network or the MLB-backed equivalent with the team’s broadcasting rights. Out-of-market fans may have the easiest access to their favorite teams with the option to subscribe to MLB.TV, which will carry nearly every game this season.

Unfortunately for cord-cutters with Sling TV, the company does not have deals with the RSNs, and they only have access to games on ESPN, TBS, FS1, and local FOX stations. Those with YouTube TV will also have similar issues, as they did not carry any RSNs or the MLB Network.

In 2026, streaming the MLB gets more fragmented as Apple TV will carry two exclusive “Friday Night Baseball” games, and Peacock will have exclusive “Sunday Leadoff” games, Sunday night games, and certain holiday games. To catch every bit of the action this season, fans will need to be savvy with their streaming options, jumping from Netflix to Fubo to Apple TV and Peacock.
