They’re the two hottest teams going in the East, and the 9th-seeded Atlanta Hawks (36-31, 18-16 home) will try to close to within 1.5 games of the 6th-seeded Orlando Magic (38-28, 16-15 away) in a must-see matchup Monday.

The Hawks, who enter as slight home favorites in the NBA odds, own the league’s best current winning streak, with nine wins in a row, while Orlando has ripped off seven straight victories.

Action gets underway at 7pm ET from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA, with national coverage provided by NBC and Peacock (which can be streamed live via FuboTV).

Atlanta check in with -135 moneyline odds at bet365, and are set as 2.5-point favorites paying out at -110 odds. The Magic are +120 to win outright, and are also getting -110 odds but with those extra 2.5 points.

Over bettors should flock to Caesars, where the total is set at 230.5 points, which is a full two points less than what’s being offered at BetMGM, which should be appealing to Under bettors.

There’s no denying that defense is powering what these teams are doing right now. Atlanta’s nine-game fun run is paced by the league’s top scoring defense going, allowing just 104 points per game.

Orlando is not far off either, as they sport the 8th-best scoring defense in the league during that stretch. Their major strength has been defending the arc, limiting teams to an NBA-best 30.1% shooting clip from beyond the arc.

How generous is that number being offered by BetMGM right now? Well, consider that the Hawks have held four teams to under 100 points during their current streak, including two in the last three games.

On top of that, the Under has gone 7-3-0 in the last 10 meetings between these teams. And just for good measure: all 10 of the matchups have gone Under the 232.5 total set for Monday.

Atlanta has been a betting darling of late, going a cool 8-1-0 against the spread over its last nine games. Their only loss? As a 15.5-point favorite against Brooklyn, who they soundly beat by 11.

Jalen Johnson has become the face of this franchise, and he’s averaging 22.3 points on 50% shooting from the fireld and 44% from 3-point range in six March games.

However, this is priced slightly high, as he’s only scored 24 points or more twice in those games.

Looking at the public betting trends, and the a whopping 87% of the money is on Atlanta to win outright, while carrying only 58% of the bets.
