When first looking at the Raptors vs Cavaliers series, the biggest question most Toronto fans was who on the Raps was going to match the production of Donovan Mitchell on the other side. After the series opener, that question looms even larger.
Mitchell was an absolute force in Game 1, showcasing the skills that make him one of the most electrifying players in the NBA. He was able to get his shot off whenever and from wherever he wanted, and I don’t anticipate that changes tonight.

My favorite NBA props bet tonight is Mitchell over 3.5 threes. DraftKings is offering juicy plus-money odds on him to accomplish the feat, and after witnessing his efficiency in Game 1 combined with the lack of resistance from the Toronto defenders, this is a pretty easy wager to place. I’m also targeting over 18.5 points for Toronto’s RJ Barrett, who benefitted greatly from the extra defensive attention teammates Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes received.

Despite a seemingly high 3.5 three prop line, the plus-money value on Mitchell is simply too good to pass up. Mitchell, a perennial NBA MVP odds contender, was the undisputed engine of the Cavaliers’ offense in Game 1, posting a massive 38.0% Usage Rate and scoring 32 points.
Crucially, Mitchell found virtually no resistance from beyond the arc. He connected on 57.1% of his three-point attempts, exploiting a Raptors defense that completely collapsed on the perimeter. The Raptors allowed the Cavaliers to shoot a staggering 50.0% from deep as a team.

While the Raptors struggled defensively, Barrett emerged as a highly efficient bright spot. Even in a hostile road environment, Barrett confidently took the reins, soaking up a team-high 31.6% Usage Rate across 31 minutes of action.
Barrett poured in 24 points in the series opener, easily eclipsing tonight’s 18.5-point line. His efficiency was off the charts, shooting 53.8% from the floor en route to a stellar 70.8% True Shooting Percentage. He relentlessly attacked the paint, earning nine trips to the free-throw line.
With Immanuel Quickley’s hamstring status keeping him a game-time decision, Barrett is likely locked into another high-volume role while the defense continues to focus on Ingram and Barnes. The Cavaliers failed to keep him away from the bucket in Game 1, and I expect Barrett to remain ultra-aggressive offensively.
