His agent Rich Paul let the front office know they can move on without him. The word is that this decision is about happiness, not money, which leaves the LeBron James next-team odds wide open. The prediction markets, though, already have a pretty strong read on where he’s headed.

The Warriors are leading the LeBron James next team odds at 49% on Kalshi, and that number has continued to climb as traders buy into the idea of a Golden State move.

Cleveland is next at 31%, powered by the obvious hometown storyline and the chance for one more run with the Cavaliers. Miami sits third in the low teens, while the rest of the board is well behind the top 3 contenders.

In a prediction market, the price reflects the market-implied probability of an outcome. In this case, Golden State is being priced right around a coin flip to land LeBron.

Why the Warriors Lead the Odds

Golden State has the easiest path to make it work. Draymond Green opted out of his $27.7 million player option, which freed up about $15 million for the Warriors to offer LeBron.

That’s a big pay cut from the $52 million he made last season, but everyone agrees money isn’t what’s driving this. There’s one big string attached, though. Per Shams Charania, LeBron will only sign with Golden State if they also trade for Anthony Davis.
