F1 British Grand Prix Predictions, Best Bets & Race Winner Odds at Silverstone

  • Don’t overthink it: This week’s free square is obvious.
  • Race pace, not qualifying pace, is driving this betting card.
  • Read below for F1 British Grand Prix predictions, best bets and race winner odds at Silverstone.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July.

Today is the Fifth of July.

That’s the day we all pretend eating three hot dogs, half a watermelon and enough potato salad to feed a Little League team was somehow part of a balanced diet.

Fortunately, Formula 1 starts at 10 a.m. ET, giving us the perfect excuse to spend Sunday morning on the couch while we “recover.”

Silverstone has a habit of rewarding race pace more than qualifying pace. Tire management, strategy and keeping the rubber pointed in the right direction through Maggots and Becketts usually matter far more than one perfect lap on Saturday.

That’s exactly what we’re betting on this weekend.

Kimi Antonelli starts from pole after dominating the Sprint, while Ferrari lines up right behind him with Charles Leclerc in second and Lewis Hamilton in third. Our model still believes Mercedes has the quickest race car over a full Grand Prix distance, and a handful of midfield matchups offer some of the best value on the board.

Let’s get into the plays.

F1 British Grand Prix Predictions & Best Bets

George Russell over Lewis Hamilton (-115 at theScore Bet)

Kimi Antonelli will likely dog walk the field if he gets away cleanly.

It’s hard to argue otherwise. Antonelli has won five of the last eight Grands Prix, stalked Lewis Hamilton through the first half of Saturday’s Sprint before making the winning pass, then backed it up by claiming pole position a few hours later.

George Russell hasn’t matched Antonelli’s pace this weekend, but that’s hardly an indictment. Nobody has.

Russell starts fourth while Hamilton rolls off third, yet our model projects Russell to finish one position ahead. We believe Mercedes has the quicker race car over a full Grand Prix distance, and this number isn’t asking Russell to beat Antonelli.

It’s asking him to beat Hamilton.

At -115, that’s a bet we’re happy to make.

Liam Lawson over Gabriel Bortoleto (-150 at theScore Bet)

The Racing Bulls have quietly become Formula 1’s clear “best of the rest.”

Lawson has scored points in six of the last seven Grands Prix, and the team continues to maximize every opportunity behind the sport’s four powerhouse organizations.

Gabriel Bortoleto deserves plenty of credit for an excellent qualifying effort, but he’ll still line up one row behind Lawson, and Silverstone doesn’t naturally play to Audi’s strengths. Over a full race distance, Racing Bulls have consistently shown the stronger package.

Don’t overthink this one.

Sometimes the free square is actually free.

Max Verstappen over Oscar Piastri (-115 at theScore Bet)

The sportsbook sees this matchup as essentially a coin flip.

Our model doesn’t.

We project Verstappen to finish fourth while Oscar Piastri falls back to sixth over race distance. Starting seventh isn’t ideal, but Verstappen has built a career on turning average Saturdays into excellent Sundays.

If he clears some traffic early, this number won’t look nearly as generous by the checkered flag.

Sergio Perez over Valtteri Bottas (+100 at theScore Bet)

Cadillac hasn’t exactly challenged for podiums this season, but Sergio Perez has quietly established himself as the team’s more dependable driver.

Perez owns a 5-2 head-to-head advantage over Bottas in races where at least one of the two drivers finishes, and we’re comfortable backing that trend once again.

Neither driver is expected to contend for points, making execution, strategy and avoiding mistakes even more important than outright pace.

At even money, we’ll side with the driver who has consistently gotten the better of this matchup.
