The NL East-leading Atlanta Braves will try to win a series after failing to do so in their previous four, as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the rubber match of their set Thursday.
The home team opened the series on fire, blasting Atlanta 12-4, but the Braves evened things up Wednesday night with a 3-0 victory.
The books like them to keep the momentum going, naming them betting favorites in the MLB odds.
Action gets underway at 12:35pm ET from PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in a game that can be seen live nationally on MLB TV.

The betting markets have shown distinct movement toward the visitors. The moneyline opened as a pure pick ’em with both sides listed at -110. The Braves have since been bet up to -118 favorites at traditional sportsbooks like FanDuel, though Kalshi currently offers superior value at 53¢ for Atlanta backers.
The total opened at 9.0 runs with -115 juice on the Over at bet365. Heavy action on a high-scoring affair drove the Over price to -129 at DraftKings. On the runline, Pittsburgh opened at +1.5 (-160) and saw their juice bump slightly to -165 to keep the game within a single run.
ATL Braves vs PIT Pirates Prediction
When evaluating the MLB probable pitchers, the advantage clearly leans toward the visitors. The Braves will hand the ball to right-hander Bryce Elder. He brings a 4.01 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP into the contest.
The Pirates counter with righty Mitch Keller, who has struggled to a 5.02 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP over 100.1 innings pitched. Atlanta also boasts a significant bullpen edge. Their relievers carry a collective 3.12 ERA, compared to the 4.42 ERA of Pittsburgh relievers.
Elder possesses a clear season-long advantage. His 3.99 FIP indicates he has pitched just as well as his traditional ERA suggests. However, recent trends show both pitchers searching for form. Elder has a 5.66 ERA over his last 10 starts. Keller has been shelled for a 6.92 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP over his last 10 outings.
Pittsburgh transforms into an absolute juggernaut on their home turf. They pace the major leagues in home batting average (.275) and OPS (.804). Their patient approach yields 3.94 walks per contest, setting up an aggressive baserunning scheme.
Conversely, Atlanta relies heavily on brute force away from Truist Park. They are tied for the league lead in road home runs per game (1.39). Their ability to instantly change the scoreboard with one swing makes them incredibly dangerous on the road.
My primary prediction is the Atlanta Moneyline. Instead of paying -120 at traditional sportsbooks, I suggest taking the Atlanta moneyline on Kalshi at 53¢. This yields a much better payout for backers of the road favorite. Elder limits free passes and suppresses hard contact much better than Keller.

Matt Olson to record an RBI (+120 at FanDuel): Olson has mashed 24 home runs and driven in 57 runs this season. He remains a prime candidate to generate offense against a struggling Keller.
