BMW Championship Picks, Predictions & Odds For 2026

  • The BMW Championship tees off Thursday, August 20th with just 50 players competing
  • Scottie Scheffler is the favorite over Rory McIlroy after claiming the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs
  • See my 2026 BMW Championship picks, best value bets, and the odds to win

After Scottie Scheffler blitzed the field with an eight-shot romp at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs heads to Missouri for the BMW Championship. Just the top-50 players on the season-long standings are competing, with 20 more players cut after this event for the FedEx Cup Finale next week.

Scheffler is the defending champion at this event, having bested Robert MacIntyre a year ago at Caves Valley Golf Club. He comes in with serious momentum on the back of the best putting performance of his career at TPC Southwind. Three-time FedEx Cup champion Rory McIlroy is the second favorite, though he finished third last in Memphis, a full 25 shots behind Scheffler. This tourney is taking place at Bellerive Country Club, just outside of St. Louis. It recently hosted the 2018 PGA Championship (won by Brooks Koepka).

I’m starting my card this week with Wyndham Clark, who won his second career U.S. Open this year, along with the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. After missing his two previous cuts, Clark had a strong showing in Memphis, where he tied for fifth place.

What’s really appealing about Clark is his number on the board at DraftKings, which is currently installed at +3500. That’s longer than the top-13 players on the board, allowing us to see real value in wagering on him. A trophy at the BMW would go a massively long way to potentially securing player of the year also, considering he has the two wins already, one of which was a major (U.S. Open).

BMW Championship 2026 Picks & Value Bets

  • Russell Henley +4300 at DraftKings: Russell Henley has had a very solid year, highlighted by his win at the Charles Schwab Challenge. He’s put together ten top-20s and five top-10s, including a pair at the Masters and Open Championship.
  • Alex Noren +7000 at DraftKings: Though Alex Noren has never won on the main circuit, he’s racked up twelve victories on the DP World Tour. His game is trending in the right direction, with a top-20 at the Open Championship, followed by a T-7th at the Wyndham and T-3rd at the just completed FedEx St. Jude Championship.
  • Akshay Bhatia +10500 at DraftKings: Akshay Bhatia isn’t firing on all cylinders like he was earlier in the campaign, which saw him hoist his third trophy at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. However, just four starts ago he posted his fourth top-10 of the season, so despite the recent blip of bad play, I’m comfortable wagering on him at this price.
  • Sepp Straka +27500 at DraftKings: Four-time PGA Tour winner Sepp Straka hasn’t flashed like he did earlier in the year, with his last of three top-tens coming in May. However, he faces the longest odds of anyone on the board, and at this super high price, he’s worth sprinkling on. While winning might be a stretch, he’ll be fascinating to monitor in the top 5/10/20 markets.
